Develop self-awareness by defining and decreasing the limiting behaviors that get in your way.

Our anti-habits are the behaviors that get in the way of our self-actualization.

These are the habits that directly inhibit our values, our key results, our projects, and our long-term well-being. They can be small, like what people call their “bad habits.” They can also include more severe actions that would be highly detrimental to our reputation, livelihood, safety, or life.

Identifying these anti-habits can include providing an honest self-assessment or getting trusted feedback and input from others. Both are recommended, as they allow us to get a fuller picture of behaviors we need to change.

Start by identifying your anti-habits and logging them on the LearnChangeDo Anti-Habit Database. Then, implement strategies to decrease or stop the anti-habit altogether.

Use it to:

  • 🧠 Become more aware of the antecedents to these behaviors (start logging what happens before they occur)
  • 💻 Define in clear, simple terms what the anti-habit is
  • ✍️ Journal, reflect, and capture experiences related to each of your anti-values
  • ✅ View an ordered list of the anti-values that are currently affecting you most recently
  • 💭 Create and document strategies for responding more appropriately when anti-values emerge in your daily life
